About this tool
A serial monitor that runs entirely in your browser using the Web Serial API — no drivers, no native app, no server in between. Plug in an Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, micro:bit, or any USB-to-serial adapter, pick the port, and start talking to it.
What you can do
- Connect to any serial device the browser can see — pick it from the native port picker
- Configure baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity to match your device
- Send keystrokes live, with a configurable line ending (none / LF / CR / CRLF) sent on Enter
- View incoming data as text or as a hex byte dump — handy for binary protocols
- Export the full session log as a .txt file
- Reconnect instantly to a device you've already granted access to, without re-picking it
Tips
- Arduino IDE's default Serial Monitor uses 9600 baud; most ESP32 boot logs use 115200
- If you see garbled characters, the baud rate almost always doesn't match — try the common rates above
- Enable Local echo if your device doesn't echo back what you type (most don't)
- Switch to Hex view when debugging binary frames instead of line-based text protocols
- Only one program (tab, or app) can hold a serial port open at a time — close the Arduino IDE Serial Monitor first
Browser support
Web Serial requires Chrome 89+ or Edge 89+ on desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS). Firefox, Safari, and all mobile browsers do not support this API. The page shows a banner on unsupported browsers.
